About GT Energy

Con is one of the founding members of GT Energy and took over the role of Chairman in December 2008. His role is to help shape the strategic direction of the Company and build a strong board of directors to drive the overall vision. Con is currently the Managing Director of Sandymark Investments Plc, Rathcoole Finance Ltd. Con and Sandymark Construction Ltd. He has been responsible for developing almost 400 acres of Industrial Property in Dublin and is also the former President of South Dublin Chamber of Commerce and sits on the South Dublin Enterprise Board.

Dermot is a founding shareholder of GT Energy and sits on the board of directors of the Company. Dermot is a director of Liffey Developments a leading Irish Civil Engineering Company. With strong leadership skills, Dermot has established and maintained a professional, dedicated, skilled and experienced team ay Liffey. His role at Liffey has seen him involved in a number of major road and site infrastructure projects including the state of the art Greenogue Industrial Estate and the multi-award winning Fr. Collins Park.

Dermot is a founding shareholder of GT Energy. He is also a founding member of Liffey Developments a leading Irish Civil Engineering Company; Dermot has played a key role in the development and growth of Liffey Developments. He has over 40 years industry experience ranging across a broad spectre of projects.

Padraig is a founding member of GT Energy. He developed the concept of commercialising geothermal energy from deep geothermal resources within Ireland and the UK. Padraig oversees the internal operations of the company and is responsible for guiding the team and reporting to the board of directors on a regular basis of the progress of the organisation. He gained a wealth of experience in the civil engineering and construction industries with Liffey Developments, having started on site and progressing through the company as lead business development manager.

Simon joined GT Energy in 2009 and was appointed to the board of GT Energy in June 2011. Simon comes from a strong financial background. In his previous roles Simon ran the finance function of a large professional services company with turnover in excess of €35m. Previous to this he worked as a strategist with Macquarie Equity Markets Division. Simon is a Chartered Accountant with a Masters in Economic Science from University College Dublin.

Mark was appointed to the Board of GT Energy in 2010. He is the Managing Director of IFG Private Asset Management having previously worked in NCB where he was Managing Director of NCB Moneybrokers before becoming a Director of the Wealth Management Division in 1999. He was a Non-Executive Director of Airtricity for 5 years from to 2003 to 2008. Mark graduated with a B Comm from UCD in 1981, he is a Registered Representative of the Stock Exchange and holds a Certificate and Diploma in Company Direction from the Institute of Directors.

Paul joined the board of GT Energy in October of 2011. Paul has over 20 years experience in general management with very strong business development skills. Pauls previous roles included Head of Strategy for Scottish and Southern Energy Group which covered strategy formulation, ventures investments, business development and research activities for the SSE group. Other roles included leading the renewable energy business for SSE as CEO of Airtricity. From 1997 to 2008, Paul was part of the team that created and sold Airtricity for €1.8 Billion. Paul is a Chartered Engineer with an Engineering Degree from Dublin Institute of Technology and an MBA from Trinity College.

Ric is a senior geologist with experience in the Irish and international geology consultancy sector.  His key areas of expertise include the evaluation and exploration of deep geothermal resources, management of deep drilling programmes, development and testing of geological models.  Ric managed the company's geothermal drilling programme at Newcastle and has completed a number of geothermal resource assessment studies for national government agencies in Ireland, Northern Ireland and the UK. Ric is a member of the Institute of Geologists of Ireland and the European Federation of Geologists.

John manages GT Energy's engineering department which is responsible for the calculation and modelling of heat loads and installed capacities for urban locations. John's role also includes the development of projects with Local Authorities, Public bodies and Commercial companies and has worked extensively on the planning applications for Irelands first Geothermal plant in Dublin. John has a BSC Honours Degree in Mineral Surveying and Resource management  and a Diploma in Geo-Surveying. He worked with Liffey Developments Ltd. ,a leading Civil Engineering company in Ireland, for five years where he progressed to the role of Senior Site Agent. In this role John was responsible for the management of contracts +€10m from inception to completion.

Thomas has long-term experience in advising municipal and private geothermal projects for district heating and / or electricity optimisation of a risk mitigation scheme for drilling risks. He also has experience in due diligence consultancy with respect to geothermal M & A transactions, (district) heating projects and conventional / regenerative power plants. Financial modelling and development of price structures for infrastructure services (electricity, gas, heat and water), including legal auditing of contractual price clauses is also an area that Thomas specialises in.

Thorsten is a mechanical engineer, and completed an MBA in 2003. He has many years experience as a construction contractor. He is closely involved with the geothermal drilling industry in Germany and is Managing Director of the Wirtschaftsforum Geothermie, a German industrial association in the Deep geothermal sector. He is currently the Executive Director of Global Engineering & Consulting Company GmbH (gec-co)

Werner is an electrical engineer. He has worked on a wide variety of energy projects over the years with particular emphasis on project development, energy concepts, district heating design and power plants for geothermal and biomass energy. He has advised on a large number of municipal geothermal projects in Germany. He is the CEO and Managing Partner of IB News GmbH.
